Derrick Gallegos is a former computer geek who decided to give up the mouse for a chance at a much bigger screen. After studying computer science at the University of Florida for two years, Derrick found his passion for acting when he auditioned for the local playhouse's production of "Les Miserables" on a whim. He was cast as Marius and immediately his paradigm shifted.
He dropped everything and moved to New York with one goal in mind: "Perform." Derrick took his passion for acting and honed it at the Atlantic Acting School. One of the Atlantic Acting School's adages is "Make your own work." Guided by this principle, Derrick worked with his business partner, Jean Franco, to form Starr Street Media.
Derrick has experience in cinematography, editing (assembly, color, sound), and 3D Graphic Design as well as a bachelors degree in business administration with a double major in management and international business.
